◆ बांगडी हे प्रत्येक हिंदू स्त्रीसाठी सौभाग्याचे लेणं....! ◆

बांगडी भरणारा समाजाला आजही 'कासार'च म्हटले जाते. कर्तव्य स्त्री नि:संकोचपणे, विश्वासाने आपल्या हाती बांगडी भरवण्यासाठी जर कुठल्या व्यक्तीच्या हाती स्वतःहून सोपवत असेल, तर तो कासार. बांगड्या भरणाऱ्या कासाराला इतके महत्व आहे की प्रत्येक शुभ कार्यामध्ये घरातील पोरी-बाळी, ताई, नव्या भावजयींना चुडा भरण झाल्यानंतर कासारदाद्याच्या पाया पडण्याचा मान आजही आहे. इतका हा समाज या व्यवसायाशी एकरूप झालेला. कासार समाजाचा मूळ व्यवसाय कारखानदार म्हणजे काचेची भांडी विकणारा व बांगडी भरणारा.

◆ सोमवंशी क्षत्रिय कासार समाजाने बांगडी भरणे, हे कालिका मातेनं दिलेलं वरदान. ◆

मल्हारगड नगरावर सोमवंशी सरदारांचे राज्य होते. सहस्रार्जुन राजास इंद्रसेन, रूपसेन, भद्रसेन व धर्मपाल ही चार पुत्र होती. हे चार भाऊ कुलस्वामिनी कालिका माता समोर अनुष्ठान वाण मागण्यासाठी बसले. तेव्हा इंद्रसेन असे वाटले की, हे सोमवंशी चार भाऊ शूरवीर आहेत. त्यांना कुलस्वामिनी कालिका मातेनं वाण न देता शस्त्र दिल्यास ते अधिकशक्तीशाली बनतील. तेव्हा इंद्राने गणपतीस सांगितले की, ते चार भावांच्या मुखातून जाऊन बस. जेव्हा हे चार भाऊ वाणाचा वर मागतील तेव्हा त्यांच्या मुखातून वाण निघे. राजा इंद्रसेन, रूपसेन, भद्रसेन व धर्मपाल यांची भक्ती पाहून कुलस्वामिनी कालिका माता प्रसन्न होऊन वर मागण्यास सांगितले, तेव्हा त्यांच्या मुखातून वाण ऐवजी वाणाचा वर मागतात. तेव्हा कालिका माता त्यांना वाणाचा वर देते व स्वधर्माचे पालन करून व्यवसायास लागावे असे आज्ञा देते.

तेव्हापासून सोमवंशी क्षत्रिय कासार समाज, वाण हेच कुलस्वामिनी कालिकामातेचे वरदान म्हणून बांगडी व भांड्याचा व्यवसाय करत आहेत.
